Currently, it is possible to sync attachments. However, it would be great that if one attachment is deleted in Jira it is also deleted in Salesforce and the other way around.

Yes, Salesforce is a CRM hence, customers' sensitive information is added as attachments. CRM professionals delete the attachments in salesforce case when the case is closed. So, it is important to delete those attachments in JIRA too
