Requesting method to obtain the issue association count using JQL

Is there a way for the Association Count to be exposed as a custom field (or somehow update a custom field) that we can use in JQL queries / reporting instead of being forced to use the limited Reports page?

Our Product and Engineering departments use JIRA-based reports frequently, using vanilla JQL queries exposed as Dashboard gadgets or creating more advanced charts using JIRA's eazyBI plugin.  Unfortunately, neither of these methods can access and leverage the key data point of Salesforce association count.  We really appreciate the visibility that ServiceRocket's Connector provides for our Sales and Client Success Team when they're using Salesforce, but only being able to report on client 'votes' via the plugin's Reports page limits its usefulness to our Product Development staff.
