We're actively working on delivering this feature. Administrators will be able to specify a startup parameter to enable/disable the password prompt. The feature will also follow the Confluence's External User Management mechanism to automatically detect presence of SSO/external user management. More to come soon!
Potential solution would be to follow the Confluence standard behaviour in disabling sudo, captcha features - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-20958

-> Will need a config page for each individual user in Confluence to setup MFA.
-> Implement MFA into current macro browser and viewing section.
