Standardize user experience when using Page Banner & Showcase macros like other Composition macros

Summary

When typing in Composition macro like {toggle-cloak} and {float} macros in a page, preview panel will appear along with configuration details which provides immediate visibility to users on what are the parameters available. Currently, this experience is not the same for {page-banner} and {showcase} macros.

Sample video when typing in {toggle-cloak} macro and preview panel will appear along with configuration details:

toggle-cloak.mp4

Sample video when typing in {page-banner} and {showcase} macros but preview panel along with configuration details are not being prompted:

pagebanner-showcase.mp4

The user experience for these macros are not standardized.

Suggestion

Standardize user experience when using Page Banner & Showcase macros like other Composition macros to show the preview panel along with configuration details which provides immediate visibility to users on what are the configuration parameters available.

    Admin response

Confluence opens up the macro editor automatically if there's at least one Required macro parameter. In this case, Page Banner and Showcase macros do not have any required parameters, because all of them are meant to be optional. Toggle Cloak has one required macro parameter.

I see that we won't be able to do this, until we introduce a new Required parameter. More likely when we introduce new features like integration with Reporting, which will require a mandatory ID param in Showcase/Page Banner. Keeping this open.
